This course is designed to prepare students for entry into the commercial real estate field by exposing them to the fundamentals of commercial real estate finance and economics, and then through the application of those fundamental concepts using actual practice scenarios on a variety of property types they are likely to encounter. It will provide a strong grounding in basic concepts that will help students who intend to pursue higher designations such as CCIM. It will also prepare agents who are interested in moving their field of business from residential to commercial, or residential agents who occasionally take part in commercial transactions.

TACS 1 is a required course for REALTORS to become eligible to obtain the Texas Accredited Commercial Specialist (TACS) certification. It covers:
- Differences between Commercial Real Estate and Residential Real Estate
- Working as a Commercial Real Estate Agent
- Key Players/Stakeholders
- CRE Investment Considerations
- Understanding the Use of and Application of CRE Financial Analysis

Participants earn 30 hours of elective credit toward the required Sales Apprentice Education(SAE)/First Renewal or broker’s license.

Cancellation Policy: Any course/class may be cancelled at the discretion of the REALTOR Academy. In the event of cancellation, all fees paid will promptly be refunded in full or will be applied to another class at the registrants’ discretion.

Refund Policy: For CE courses, a full refund or credit will be made/applied to any registrant who has paid tuition and canceled or reschedules prior to two business days of the course. A refund, less a $50service fee will be applied to any registrant who cancels or reschedules within two business days of the course. There are no refunds for same day cancellations (day of class) and for partial attendance.
